Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice, and Accessibility
DEIJA is the first of the 4 pillars of the ACHA Strategic Plan.  As such, the work of this committee is a priority of the Board of Directors, and  its success is paramount to the realization of the plan.

The DEIJA Committee will work with a DEIJA expert consultant contracted by the national office to undertake a top-to-bottom assessment of the organization (Member communications, practices, policies, procedures, training, HR, etc. ) to eliminate bias and increase inclusivity; to implement remaining recommendations of the 2021 RMHI report (details below); to develop an annual survey, and annual KPI Progress report; and to lay out a long term plan for ACHA’s DEIJA journey.

The DEIJA Committee may also be asked for feedback on, or to tasked to review, other ACHA  programs, policies or activities to ensure our DEIJA aspirations are incorporated, goals defined, and progress measured.

Racial Marginalization and Health Inequities Task Force Final Report

During the 2020-2021 year, the Racial Marginalization and Health Inequities Task Force began the work of helping ACHA as an organization move forward. They produced a comprehensive report with data and recommendations. This report was reviewed during the Spring 2021 board meeting and accepted unanimously by the board. Since that time, the executive committee began the work to address the recommendations. See the Board of Directors’ Response to the ACHA Racial Marginalization and Health Inequities Task Force Final Report (November 18, 2021).
